NHL 09/10 PREDICTIONS. ( STANDINGS, LEAGUE LEADERS, AWARDS, STANLEY CUP FINALS. )

Eastern Conference

1. Washington Capitals ( Ovechkin will lead the way, also Backstrom, Semin, and Varly will help em out for 1st.)
2. New Jersey Devils ( Brodeur is the reason NJ will win the Atlantic division, aswell as Parise tearin' it up!! )
3. Buffalo Sabres ( Thanks to Miller having a career season, Sabres win the Northeast, Vanek, Pominville, Roy also big factors for the success the Sabres will carry out through the season.)
4. Pittsburgh Penguins ( Crosby, Malkin, Staal, Fleury are still superstars, but Pens fall to 4th by April. )
5. Boston Bruins ( Bruins are still a good team and are still playoff worthy, but the loss of Kessel is showing in their game, they fall from 1st to 5th throughout the year. )
6. Atlanta Thrashers (Big improvement over the year, Antropov was clutch, Afinigenov was clutch, also, Peverly and Kovalchuk are on fire!! Aswell as Pavelec!! Thrashers make playoffs this season. )
7. Toronto Maple Leafs ( People thought these guys were crap, please, a gritty, hard-working team night in and night out, these guys keep fighting, their makin' the playoffs, in 7th place. )
8. Philadelphia Flyers ( Flyers, something going wrong right now but they'll snap out of it, Carter, Pronger, Richards will cary them JUST into the playoffs. )
9. Ottawa Senators
10. New York Rangers

Western Conference

1. San Jose Sharks ( Their a great regular season team & they'll get a few points higher then LA for 1st place )
2. Chicago Blackhawks ( Great job rebuilding, cup contenders and there is no way Detroit is going higher then CHI this year. )
3. Calgary Flames ( Kipper is having a phenomanl season & CGY will beat COL by just a couple of points. )
4. Los Angeles Kings ( LA is stacked this year, they got a tough month ahead in January so my guess is they drop down a few spots and work their way up to atleast 4th place, just a few back from 1st! )
5. Colorado Avalanche ( COL is having a good season but I don't think their good enough to win their division, but they finish a solid 5th )
6. Detroit Red Wings ( Their definetly not the same Detroit without Hossa & Hudler, still a great team but other teams are starting to gain confidence and talent. Red Wings finish 6th. )
7. Phoenix Coyotes ( Coyotes have made a great turn-around and they're good enough for playoff hockey this 2010. )
8. Nashville Predators ( Predators are the team that could and JUST squeeze in for the playoffs. )
9. Vancouver Canucks

2 GAME WIN STREAK CURSE.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have been playing great hockey as of late...They are 8-3-2 in their last 13 games. But, I've noticed something over the past month where they have 'got their game together'. The Leafs have a 2 game win streak CURSE. Let's get real..

It all started when they won their 3rd game of the season. November 6th - 7th, Leafs won back to back hockey games for the 1st time in the season, the following game, they played a basement team such as the Minnesota Wild, and they got slapped, 5-2. Then, November 25th - 27th, Leafs beat Tampa Bay and Florida to win back to back games once again. The following game they hosted the Buffalo Sabres and got shutout 3-0.
December 1st - 3rd, the Leafs beat Montreal 3-0 and then beat the Blue Jackets 6-3. After those two wins, they go destroyed 7-2 by the Boston Bruins. Then on December 7th - 9th, they won 2 games in a row against the Thrashers and the Islanders. The following game, they lost 5-2 to the Bruins again. The Leafs have been out-scored 20 to 6 in '3 straight wins' chances. Their currently coming off an impressive 6-3 win over the Caps, my guess...They beat the sens tomorrow and loose 9-1 to the yotes on wednesday. haha, juuuusst kiiiddinggg, kinda...

RUSSIA @ CANADA, WHO WINS!?

Now everybody including myself cannot wait for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Alot of people are favouring team Canada to take home the gold. And why not? They got Sidney Crosby, Joe Thornton, Rick Nash, Jarome Iginla, Martin Brodeur, Luongo, Neidermeyar, Pronger... etc etc. What a stacked team, they must win the gold.....NOT.

Let's get real, team Canada will win silver in the 2010 Olympic men's hockey. Sweden or USA or Finland will probably get bronze. Russia....GOLD. Don't get me wrong, I'll be cheering for Canada during the 2010 Olympics but i'll be cheering for Russia just a bit more, and god I hope these two countries meet up in the finals which they probably will. I wanna see another battle of Crosby vs. Ovechkin. Russia will win gold simply because they will be the better team. Alexander Ovechkin who is single handedly better than any player on team Canada. Who's better then him!? Crosby? Crosby is the closest to Ovechkin's level. Along side with Ovechkin is Pavel Datsyuk who is actually a bit under-rated, he is really really talented. Ilya Kovalchuk is putting up amazing numbers this season. 16 goals in just 23 games!? jeez! Russia also has forward Evgeni Malkin..now c'mon, having malkin, kovalchuk, ovechkin, and datsyuk on the same team, that's just beast. Also with Alex Kovalev although he is having a slow season so far. Now Russia's only problem would be Defense, they don't have much back bone to their system. For goaltending, i dont know if anybody could get it done, that's a big problem..Nik Khabibulin possibly, or Semyon Varlamov? He's played great this season...Hate me or whatever, my guess....Russia wins gold, Canada wins silver...

KINGS OF THE ICE (1st Post)

The Los Angeles Kings have been seriously and surprisingly, amazing! They've been wrecking and climbing to the top of the ladder game by game. First post is always the hardest one to get through. Let's talk about how good these group of guys are and why this magically marvelous team is going to be cup contenders this season...That's right, in my humble opinion, the Kings are going to put up a fight. They'll probably take the cup home. ;) Let's get real.
The Kings are 20-10-3, the very first team to reach 20 wins the whole entire western conference. Who are these guys!? 14th place last season, 34 wins ALL last season and now in their 33 games their already just 14 wins shy of reaching their win mark in the 08-09 season. Now, you're probably thinking I'm crazy and that the Kings are not going to have a shot at winning the cup. I'm sure your mind is set on the Blackhawks or the Penguins or something. I hope you don't count the kings out, and why the hell not? they've made a full 360 turn around and are just points away from being the top team in the whole entire NHL!! Anze Kopitar is on pace for a career season, already with 15 goals and 36 points! And don't get me started on Drew Doughty, I can go on all night about the positive things that this kid brings to the club. 8 goals? He is tied for most goals scored by a defencemen this year, he's a plus 10, a major threat on the power-play, and makes GREAT defensive plays. oh, and he's 20 years old. I was playing NHL 10 gm mode with the leafs and traded luke schenn for this guy, im tellin ya, who doesn't want him!? GET HIM ON THE OLYMPIC TEAM! Jonothan Quick, the masked man in between the pipes is having a solid season. Solid D' infront of the Solid G' and Solid O' infront of the Solid D', Solid fans fill the staples centre. I'm a die-hard leafs fan, but Kings are taking it this year. am i right or what? Let's get real, they are the kings of the ice.
